Thursday, April 09, 2009 Six outstanding projects built by AGC of California contractors were chosen as winners in the Twenty-Second Annual Associated General Contractors of California's Constructor Awards program. The winning projects, along with all of the Constructor Awards finalists named in this year’s competition, were honored as the “best of the best” in California construction during the 2009 Awards Banquet and presentation at The Marriott Newport Beach Hotel & Spa on April 4. The prestigious black tie event, the “Oscars” evening for the construction industry, was attended by over 280 people from top construction firms throughout the state. • Meeting the Challenge of the Difficult Job – Heavy Engineering Constructor Winner: Disney Construction, Inc., for Devil’s Slide Bridges in Pacifica Also selected as finalists in this category were: MCM Construction, Inc. for Confusion Hill US Route 101 Realignment in Mendocino County, and Shimmick Construction Co., Inc. for Stony Gorge Dam Modification in Elk Creek.
