At AGC of America's National Convention held in Puerto Rico, Shimmick Construction was recognized with 1st Place in the United States for Safety Excellence in the 300,000-700,000 worker hour in the Federal and Heavy Civil division. SCCI was recognized for 3rd place in 2013, 2nd place in 2014, and now has reached the top spot in the country. Below is an excerpt from AGC of CA's release: Annual Convention Highlights 2015 California National Award Winners Last week, more than a hundred California AGC members attended AGC of America's 96th Annual Convention in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Themed “360° of Construction”, the Annual Convention was where general contractors, specialty contractors, and suppliers from around the nation converged for three days to gain a comprehensive view of where they are, where they are going and where the need to be to strengthen the decisions construction professionals have to make every day. It was also during the Annual Convention that the results of several achievement awards were announced and presented to AGC member companies and their respective chapter.
