The project scope of work included removal of the existing track and turnouts, assembly and installation of six new crossovers and switch machines, removal of existing turnouts and installation of a new #10 turnout and switch machines, rehabilitation of existing turnouts, four interlockers, a new double slip switch, signal modifications, and rehabilitation of the San Francisco Caltrain yard. Additional work included a full review of all circuit designs, installation of new signaling equipment in Instrument Houses, wired circuits, new equipment testing, software start-up, and integration of these systems into full-service. Crews worked consistently during non-revenue night and weekend hours to avoid affecting existing services.
