Owner: Alameda Flood Control and Water Conservation District
Contract value: $7,650,000
The project was the first stage of a larger improvement project to double the drainage capacity of the area. This first stage consisted of multiple phases:
- Phase 1 included the installation of a soldier beam/steel plate excavation support system, and new box culverts.
- Phase 2 included the installation of a 10 ft x 7 ft box culvert on a fabric encased ground support.
- Phase 3 consisted of installation of three junction structures and short runs consisting of double box culverts which join the local drainage systems.
- Phase 4 included the removal of 540 ft of a 54-in arch brick culvert and the installation of a new 60-in RCP.
While this drainage work was underway, additional construction was performed, including new street base, paving, striping, lighting, landscaping, and limited replacement of curb, gutter, and sidewalk.
