Shimmick offers 12-week paid internships to highly qualified college students who are excited about working on challenging and rewarding water and critical infrastructure projects.
When you intern with us, you are placed on a project and do the real work of a field engineer, gaining valuable real-world experience. You are supervised and mentored by an engineer with two to seven years of experience. This isn’t job shadowing or making copies. This is learning and experiencing what it is like to be a valued contributor at Shimmick.
We visit numerous college campuses every year. We are also a sponsor for the Associated Schools of Construction competition for regions six and seven, held annually in Sparks, Nevada. The specific campuses visited can vary based on regional needs, although we do recruit for interns and graduating seniors every fall and spring.
We are looking for students studying civil engineering, construction management, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mining engineering, and environmental or occupational health and safety. Find us on campus and let’s talk!
