For over 20 years, Shimmick has provided operations and management support to transit agencies in the U.S. We currently operate and maintain the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail, the largest public works project in New Jersey history under a design-build-operate-maintain contract. With decades of experience in supporting the transit vehicle industry, our transit team strives to identify innovative solutions to complex transit challenges. Since 2003, Shimmick has performed fleet assessments, developed concept reports, written technical specifications, developed Requests for Proposals, supported procurements and proposal evaluations, managed overhauls, and managed new fleet procurement contracts. As program management consultants, we’ve worked on new rail vehicle and people mover procurements, new central control installations, and equipment overhauls that replace aging fleets with more efficient, reliable, and safer transit systems. We’ve worked for municipalities and transit agencies in Jersey City, Miami, Baltimore, Detroit, Charlotte, Houston, Chicago, Dallas, and Puerto Rico.
