Shimmick provided CM/GC services for this $56 Million project to construct a new peak period shoulder lane down the center of a heavily congested I-70. The project required 13 miles of civil improvements, including widening, grading, drainage, retaining walls, paving, interchange reconstruction, bridge replacement, testing, and signalization. I-70 is the only major route carrying traffic from Denver to Colorado’s major ski resorts. As such, this project required extensive traffic maintenance to perform construction while maintaining traffic flow into and out of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains.
In addition to CM/GC services, we provided value engineering, permitting, constructability reviews, budgeting, pre-construction assessments, estimating.
