Robert “Bob” Schraeder is a Southwest Officer with over 30 years of industry experience and over 15 years of experience working on large design build projects. He is skilled at managing the design and construction of complex infrastructure projects within congested urban environments in Southern California.
Bob has worked as the Project Manager for the Gerald Desmond Bridge Replacement Project, where he has provided leadership and direction for the design and construction of the $780 million design build project as well as quality control for the project. Before heading over to the Gerald Desmond Bridge project, Bob served as Shimmick’s Director of Design-Build, leading and sponsoring design build projects in the Southwest. He continues to take a leading role in design build estimating for the region.
Prior to coming to Shimmick, Bob worked as a project manager and project design manager for a number of large projects across the United States. Highlights from his career include the Exposition Light Rail Transit, a $570 million design build project in downtown Los Angeles; the $700 million Foothill Transportation Corridor – South in Orange County, California; the $90 million SR-92 Highway in Salt Lake County, Utah; and the $240 million Carolina Bays Parkway in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He also worked with Shimmick on the $175 million San Fernando Valley Bus Rapid Transit Project as the deputy design manager.
Bob holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Civil Engineering and Applied Mathematics from California Polytechnic University, Pomona as well as a Masters of Divinity from Talbot School of Theology at Biola University.
