Don Heinrich is a Southwest Officer who brings 40 years of experience with him to his role as the electrical sponsor for the Southwest and Northwest. Shimmick’s ability to self-perform electrical work has given us an edge in the market, and Don is a key leader of our highly successful electrical team.
Don came to Shimmick in 2005 and has assisted in the development of a highly efficient group of managers, field supervisors, and inside wiremen capable of timely completion of quality electrical work. Key projects include the Robert A. Skinner Treatment Plant Oxidation Retrofit Program and Washwater Reclamation Plant, the Diemer Water Treatment Project, the Big Tujunga Dam Project, multiple projects for the Orange County Sanitation District, the San Vicente Dam Raise Project, and many other large and small projects in California and Washington.
Prior to joining Shimmick, Don spent 15 years with Domar Electric, where he worked his way up from foreman to Vice President, and 18 years with Shasta Electric, where he was a Vice President. While at Shasta, Don focused on industrial controls projects in the water and wastewater industry and managed the company’s Instrumentation Group. A key project during his time at Shasta was the Owens Lake Shallow Flooding Irrigation Project, a design build project that was the recipient of the 2002 Marvin M. Black “Excellence in Partnering” award from the Associated General Contractors of America, an annual national award.
Don served an apprenticeship with the Local 11 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and graduated in 1980.
