Michael Elfering

Michael Elfering is the Director of Human Resources at Shimmick, bringing nearly 20 years of HR experience across Shimmick and its legacy companies, including AECOM, URS, and Washington Group. He oversees a wide range of human resources functions, including workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition, training and development, and compensation and benefits strategy. Mr. Elfering also supports efforts to promote a positive workplace culture, ensures compliance with employment laws, and provides strategic guidance during organizational changes.

Before joining AECOM, Mr. Elfering served in the United States Army and was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Idaho, combining his military leadership experience with his extensive expertise in human resources management.
