Trace Porter

Vice President, Operations Northwest Division

Trace Porter is the Vice President for Shimmick’s Northwest Division, where he oversees operations, project delivery, and business development across the region. With over 23 years of experience in the construction industry, he has a diverse background in managing complex heavy civil projects, technical bridges, dams, transit, water, rail, deep excavation, and complex demolition. Mr. Porter’s project delivery experience includes bid-build, design-build, CMGC, PDB, retrofits, and new construction.

Over the years, Mr. Porter has played a key role in the successful delivery of high-profile infrastructure, including work at Folsom Dam totaling over $150 million, the $330 million BART Transbay Tube Retrofit, Golden Gate Bridge retrofits totaling over $400 million, and $300 million in contracts at the TJPA Transbay Transit Center. His technical bridge experience includes erection and demolition, phased retrofits, cable-stayed, movable, suspension, cast-in-place segmental, and rail with integral design and construction coordination, as well as temporary construction engineering.

Mr. Porter holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and multiple California contractor licenses, including A, B, C-51, C-10, C-13, and HAZ certification.
