This $19 million project consisted of a 140,000-cubic-yard earthen dam raise, including new drainage and seepage collection systems. Shimmick also harvested 77 acres of timber to facilitate a local borrow area for the new dam embankment fill material. Structure improvements included a precast box culvert inlet canal, demolition and replacement of the existing emergency spillway, and improvements to the existing penstock and irrigation canal inlet and outlet structures.
