Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District Regional Water Reclamation Facility Expansion

Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District Regional Water Reclamation Facility Expansion

The Regional Water Reclamation Facility (RWRF) Expansion increases Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District’s treatment capacity by 4 million gallons per day (MGD), supporting long-term regional growth and system reliability. The existing facility is an extended aeration plant designed for nitrification, denitrification, and phosphorus removal by California Title 22 standards. It currently treats an average of 8.0 MGD and can manage up to 17.6 MGD during peak wet weather events. The plant includes two parallel liquid treatment trains with a shared solids dewatering system. This expansion builds on the facility’s robust design by enhancing nutrient removal capabilities and improving performance during high-flow conditions.
