Shimmick expanded this treatment plant facility and improved reverse osmosis capabilities. This expansion work included the following major work elements:
Existing RO feed pump motor was reconditioned to original factory specifications. The existing reverse osmosis train was also reconditioned with new filter membranes, analyzing and monitoring instrumentation, high performance permeate and concentrate butterfly valves and upgraded fittings. In addition, a new reverse osmosis train was installed to accommodate for the increase capacity.
The clean-in-place system was upgraded with new heaters and heater control PLC. New valves and piping were installed to incorporate the existing CIP system for the new RO train. The existing fire sprinkler system was upgraded current code.
The electrical system was upgraded with new VFD’s to control RO feed pumps, well pumps and treated water pumps.
The instrumentation and control system was replaced with the latest Schneider Electric Modicon PLC’s. New programming was implemented with new control strategies, and associated instrumentation, to control the new and existing RO trains, flow paced chemical feed systems, treated water pump station and analysis of influent raw water, RO concentrate, RO permeate and treated water.
