Sounder Yard Expansion

Sounder Yard Expansion

The work performed on this project included the demolition of two existing guard shacks and miscellaneous asphalt pads. The new construction consisted of the installation one new layover track where Sound Transit trains will be serviced. There was installation of four new buildings. These buildings included two bullet proof guard shacks, a storage facility, and a modular building for the crews that services the trains. There was also paving that was installed on the site. The paving was broken down into four access roads (North Access Road, Center Access Road, East Access Road, and South Access Road). In addition to the roads there was a paved parking lot for the modular building and paved driveways to the storage facility and the air compressor pad.
