Sunol Valley Water Treatment Plant Ozonation

Sunol Valley Water Treatment Plant Ozonation

As part of a major upgrade to the Sunol Valley Water Treatment Plant, Shimmick will perform specialized electrical work supporting the installation of a new ozonation system. The project introduces an ozone treatment process for primary disinfection and taste and odor control of the raw water supply for the Bay Area. Major components include an Ozone Generator Building, Ozone Contact Basin, liquid oxygen systems, standby power infrastructure, and integrated instrumentation and controls. This initiative represents a long-term investment in regional water quality, increasing reliability and protection against emerging contaminants. Shimmick’s scope focuses on delivering high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems, SCADA integration, and process controls for the new facilities.
