This project included installing a concrete weir structure at the confluence of the Sweeney and McCune Channels to recapture agricultural irrigation water. The structure included eight (8) feet tall tapered weir walls above ground level, eight (8) feet tall walls below ground with a combined length of 700 feet, and a base slab of 5,500 SF with hydro relief vales. To construct this project, Shimmick bypassed both channels with a combined 120 CFS flow due to the structure being built around the bypass system. This was accomplished by utilizing aqua dams and 36” and 42” HDPE pipes supported by driven h-pile while maintaining construction access.
