Safety Week 2025 Underway Across Shimmick Jobsites Nationwide

Shimmick is proud to take part in Construction Safety Week 2025, a national initiative happening now through May 9. This year’s theme, “Connected. Supported. Safe.” aligns with our belief that safety is not just about rules—it’s about people. Across the country, Shimmick teams are using this week to recommit to what matters most: ensuring everyone goes home safely, every day.

Throughout the week, job sites are hosting toolbox talks, safety walk-downs, and open discussions focused on risk awareness and pre-task planning. We started the week with a “Planning with Precision” focus, spotlighting how thoughtful, proactive planning is critical in reducing risk and supporting effective project delivery. Teams will follow Construction Safety Week toolbox topics through May 9.

In his message to employees, Shimmick CEO Ural Yal shared: “Safety is not just about the rules—it’s about people. It’s about watching out for each other, speaking up when something doesn’t feel right, and doing the little things right to prevent the big things from going wrong.” He encouraged all employees to ask questions, share their voices, and use this week to strengthen what’s already working.

From California to Tennessee, the engagement and energy surrounding Safety Week remind us that safety is everyone’s responsibility. As one of the nation’s top infrastructure builders, Shimmick remains committed to creating a culture where every voice is heard and every worker is empowered to lead with safety.
