Shimmick Wins $45.4M Murray Street Bridge Project

The City of Santa Cruz awarded Shimmick a $45.4 million contract to replace and seismically upgrade the Murray Street Bridge. The project will enhance regional safety and improve access for pedestrians, bicyclists, and vehicles.

Work includes the demolition of the existing bridge, construction of new bridge structures, utility relocations, roadway improvements, and new ADA-compliant paths. The bridge crosses the Santa Cruz Harbor, adding logistical and environmental complexity.

This project underscores Shimmick’s deep experience in complex transportation infrastructure and its role in improving public safety and community resilience in California.
