Los Padres Dam Fish Passage Construction

Los Padres Dam Fish Passage Construction

Shimmick performed this fish passage project for California American Water at the Los Padres Dam in Carmel Valley. This project involved work in environmental sensitive areas including the Carmel Valley River, and Los Padres Reservoir. Shimmick coordinated with CDFW, NOAA fisheries, Monterey Regional Water Quality Board, and Army Corps of Engineers to successfully meet 401 and 1,600 permit requirements. These requirements required work to be complete in environmental sensitive areas. The scope of work performed in these areas included dewatering, fish rescue, excavation, structural steel install, and drilling for pipe piles. All work was completed on time and met all permit requirements.
