North City Plant Expansion Site Work and Ozone Relocation

This project expanded the North City Water Reclamation Plant from 30 mgd to 52 mgd. Shimmick constructed new and modified existing facilities and associated piping, HVAC, plumbing, instrumentation and controls, electrical, and site work.

The scope of work included early site work, civil work, yard piping, retaining walls and electrical work. In addition, the project also required site mass excavation, Ozone-Biological Activated Carbon (BAC) relocation and relocating the power generation and appurtenance.

The NCWRP is an active and operational water reclamation facility, and Shimmick maintained operability of  the facility at all times, except for City approved planned shutdown intervals during the cutover of new to existing systems.
