The project includes construction of a new joint outfall low flow pump station facility and rehabilitation of the existing ocean outfall booster station, central power generation building, effluent pump station annex, and standby power facility to repair and improve the reliability and efficiency of the existing ocean outfall system.
This project also includes the rehabilitation of the existing electrical distribution systems throughout OCSD’s Plant 2. Among other minor upgrades, a new 2-megawatt diesel standby generator will be added to the existing EPSA, which currently houses four existing generators.
Shimmick is currently self-performing approximately 85 percent of the work, including excavation, CIP concrete and concrete formwork, water bearing concrete structures, PVC lining, industrial Epoxy Coatings,
Additional work includes 36-to-96-inch steel pipe, yard and process piping and process piping, metering pumps, automatic strainers, turbine and column pumps, and other electrical equipment. Shimmick self-performed installation, testing and commissioning.
