05 May Shimmick Secures New Contract for Folsom Dam Expansion
Shimmick, as part of the joint venture Folsom Dam Constructors, has secured a new project to raise the Folsom Dam in California. The $114 million project was awarded by the U.S. Army Corps. of Engineers, Sacramento District. The improvements will reduce flood risk to the Sacramento area by expanding the capacity of the dam and enabling more water storage during flood events.
