Shimmick’s Foster City Project was featured in the June 2023 issue of the AWPA Reporter magazine. The article, starting on page 34 of the publication, was written and submitted by City of Foster staff. The levee system is critical flood protection for Foster City.
Shimmick broke ground on the $60 million project in October 2020. The total project length is approximately 6.5 miles and is located adjacent to environmentally sensitive Bay and marsh environments. The area is subject to tidal flooding.
