Shimmick has a history of success on unique and difficult foundations projects. From battling artesian pressures while successfully drilling 8ft diameter shafts 200ft deep with base tip grouting for the Port of Long Beach on the new Gerald Desmond Bridge to rotating 12ft diameter casing 300ft deep in the challenging Hawaiian geological formations for Honolulu Rail Transit Project.
With our wealth of successful projects in deep foundations, Shimmick decided to create a division dedicated to these challenges. Legacy Foundations was created in 2014 and specializes in deep foundation drilling, slope stabilization and shoring systems, ground improvement services, and shaft anomaly repair. The Legacy Foundations team has worked alongside each other for decades. We are more than a division we are family led by a team of expert drillers.
