E320 South Bellevue project is part of 14- mile Sound Transit’s Eastlink Light Rail Extension Project that was approved by voters in 2008. East link extension will connect city of Seattle, Mercer Island, Bellevue and Redmond. The South Bellevue station will is scheduled to open for revenue in 2023 with the light rail section to Overlake.
E320 South Bellevue Extension work consists of construction of South Bellevue Station, a 1,500-stall multi-level parking garage, Traction Power Substation (TPSS), two signal houses, approximately 2.2 miles of elevated, retained cut and at-grade guideway, reconstruction of 112th Avenue NE over the light Rail Guideway, site restoration and related street improvements, accommodations for high-rail access to the guideway for maintenance vehicles, installation of direct fixation, ballasted tracks.
Additional work includes: stone column soil stabilization, embankment surcharge, Deep soil Mix, lightweight foamed concrete fill, Irrigation, utility installation, fencing and lighting.
